BWH employees who are not covered by collective bargaining agreements will be eligible for pay increases of up to 5 percent (budgeted for 3 percent) for fiscal year 2007. The FY 2007 Wage and Salary package also calls for increasing the hourly wage floor to $10, marking the third straight year of a salary wage floor increase.
“One of my goals is to continue making BWH the best place to work by creating an environment of respect and caring for our patients and one another. I appreciate all you do to make us one of the best hospitals in the world today,” BWH President Gary Gottlieb, MD, MBA, said.
As in the past, BWH operates on a merit system based on the employee’s current performance appraisal and is effective on the quarter-review date. The completion of a written performance evaluation with a rating of Level 3 or higher is required to receive an adjustment in pay. Employees at or above the maximum salary for their pay range may be eligible for a bonus of up to 3 percent on their review date.
In addition, the formal salary range maximums and the new service structure banded rates will be adjusted by 3 percent.
“We conducted a detailed analysis of health care salary rates throughout the country and in northeastern states,” Lisa Ponton, JD, vice president of Human Resources, said. “Salary increases for health care organizations and all other companies, both in the northeast and throughout the country, are projected to be 3.8 percent, and we’re right there.”
Staff should contact their managers if they have questions about the FY 2007 Wage and Salary program.
