Whether they are responding to codes, issuing new employee identification badges or ensuring patients and visitors can easily park their cars, the members of the BWH Security and Parking teams are on duty around the clock to ensure safety and assist employees, patients and visitors.
“We are fortunate to have such dedicated staff in Security and Parking,” said Robert Chicarello, director of Security and Parking. “Our men and women truly go above and beyond to keep the hospital safe and secure and to make it easier for patients and visitors to access the hospital through our valet services. Our staff are vital members of the BWH community.”
The teams celebrated a year’s worth of accomplishments and handed out awards to outstanding team members during the recent Security and Parking Awards Dinner at the Longwood Galleria.
Souad Haiti was named Security Officer of the Year for the evening shift, with Ivan Avila taking home the award for the day shift and Douglas Judge on the night shift. Brandon Matrone was honored as Dispatcher of the Year, and the Supervisor of the Year Award went to Eliotte Mehu.
On the Valet side of the department, staff were named employees of the year in the following categories: Anthony Williams, Valet; Joaquin Cruz, Customer Service; Jessica Mauriz, Cashier; Berket Oukbagebriel, ServiCenter; Ruta Ghebreigziabiher, Transporter; and Stevie Weathers, Supervisor. Luis Hernandez and Brian Kennedy were each honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards.
