The First Annual Dennis Thomson Compassionate Care Lecture will be held Wednesday, May 31, at 5 p.m. in the Bornstein Amphitheater. The featured speaker will be Sara Lawrence-Lightfoot, Harvard Graduate School of Education professor and MacArthur Prize Fellowship recipient. A renowned scholar and author, Lawrence-Lightfoot has authored numerous articles and written six books, including Balm in Gilead: Journey of a Healer, her physician mother's biography, which won the 1988 Christopher Award for literary merit and humanitarian achievement; and Respect: An Exploration.
