On December 10, the Departments of Nutrition and Food Services introduced a new vegetarian menu, which is now available as an option to BWH inpatients. The menu is primarily designed for those vegetarians who include some dairy and eggs in their diets, but it does accommodate vegans, who choose to exclude dairy and eggs.
According to Kathy McManus, MS, RD, director, Department of Nutrition, “Our vegetarian patients can now enjoy great flavor along with the necessary nutrients to help them recover.”
