When medical staff expressed concerns about the imbalance of work and family life, BWPO Physician Services responded. In mid-June, the BWPO launched a partnership with Circles, a personalized concierge service to assist physicians with a variety of timesaving tools related to planning events, organizing travel and arranging home and shopping services. BWH has agreed to fund the service for BWH faculty scientists.
Within three weeks of its launch date, Circles has assisted more than 200 professional staff with a variety of needs, ranging from vacation planning to car repair. “We are thrilled to see many of our members taking advantage of this service,” said Andrew Sussman, MD, chief medical officer, BWPO. “Such an impressive response validates the value of this program and our charge to continue crafting creative solutions to enhance the quality of life for our medical staff.”
Through June 24, Circles personal assistants received 352 requests from BWPO members who registered to use the free concierge service. One of the most popularly requested services was entertainment assistance—covering needs such as event planning, theater tickets and restaurant reservations. Assistance with shopping and travel were also high on the list.
According to feedback from members of the BWPO, the Circles service was able to cut “to-do” lists in half. Users commented that the service was a “wonderful benefit” and from a time management perspective, “outstanding.”
Circles personal assistants can arrange and facilitate almost any task. For more information visit (www.circles.com), email (requests@circles.com) or call 888-786-7786. The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is free to BWPO members and BWH faculty scientists.
