Teams of researchers studying the effect of the changes in the BWH medication administration system (barcode/eMAR) recently published a report on nurses’ satisfaction, “Nurses’ Satisfaction with Medication Administration Point-of-Care Technology” in the July/August Journal of Nursing Administration. The authors are: Ann C. Hurley,?DNSc, RN, FAAN, Anne Bane, MSN, RN,?Sofronia Fotakis, Mary E. Duffy, Amanda Sevigny, MSN, RN, Eric G. Poon, MD, MPH, and Tejal K. Gandhi, MD. Other members of the team who were instrumental in planning and carrying out this research include, Judy Hayes, RN, MSN, Carol Keohane, RN, MS, Erica Featherstone, BS, Seth Woolf, BS, Laurel A. Eisenhauer, RN, PhD, FAAN, Dorothy A. Jones, RN, PhD, FAAN, and Nancy Dolan, RN, MS. The team thanks the many BWH nurses who gave time and effort to complete surveys and to be interviewed in order to collect data for the study and the nurse managers who facilitated data collection.
Judith A. Nagle, MSN, APRN, BC, CNOR, wrote an article entitled “Knee Joint Preservation with Autologous Cartilage Implantation (ACI)” that was published in the October Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses Journal (AORN).
Vincent M. Vacca, Jr., MSN, RN, CCRN, nurse educator for the Neuroscience ICU, published an article called “Autonomic Dysreflexia,” in September’s Nursing2007. Vacca also published “Hereditary Angioedema: A Case Study” in the October Journal of Neuroscience Nursing.
