Terry Kahlert, MS, RN, director of Cardiovascular and Medical Nursing at BWH, recently graduated from the Johnson & Johnson-Wharton Fellows Program in Management for Nurse Executives. Kahlert was one of 37 nurse executives selected to participate in the program-- an intense three-week management education program held at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. “Given the complexity and breadth of patient care services, the nursing executive is considered pivotal to the hospital leadership team,” said Kahlert. “The most significant challenge we face is delivering high quality, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced, complex medical center in a fiscally responsible manner.” Held annually, the Wharton program provides senior nurse executives with critical business and management education for health care industry in the 21st century. Graduating alongside Kahlert were executives representing the United States, Canada, Spain and Australia.
