Call for Scholar Nominations Special Insert
BWH has announced its Dennis J. Thomson Compassionate Care Scholar Program for 2001. In honor of Thomson, the late vice president of Public Affairs, BWH named 16 Thomson Compassionate Care Scholars in 2000. The goals of the Compassionate Scholar Program are to recognize providers from any discipline who embody the tenets of compassion in their daily work, and to provide those Scholars with the opportunity to develop a project that will foster compassionate care in their clinical area. Individuals must be nominated by leaders in their respective clinical areas. It is also required that the nominator be willing to provide the Scholar with the opportunity to develop and implement a project to enhance Compassionate Care among their colleagues. The award comes with a small honorarium that may be used for the project or the Scholar’s time. For more information or to nominate a Compassionate Care Scholar, see the insert in this issue of BWH Bulletin.
