Making Work Work for You:
Q: Were all BWH telephone numbers prefaced by 732 and 525 converted to 5-digit extensions during phase I on April 27? A: No. On April 27, the 5-digit dialing conversion changed the internal dialing at BWH’s Main Campus only. With this conversion, most telephone numbers beginning with 732 and 525 converted to five-digit internal extensions, but some still require dialing the full 10 digit number (ie 9-617-XXX-XXXX). There are 732 and 525 numbers at 850 Boylston, 10 Brookline Place and DFCI (Smith/Staples) which still require dialing the 10 digit number. During phase II of the conversion (May 11), the 850 Boylston numbers 732-9000 through 732-9999 will convert to five digit internal extensions. During phase III of the conversion (May 25), the DFCI (Smith/Staples) numbers prefaced by 525 will convert. On the May 11 and May 25 live dates, the 732-9XXX will convert to 2-9XXX and 525-XXXX, will convert to 5-XXXX. These phase II and III conversions only apply when internally dialing within the 850 Boylston and DFCI (Smith/Staples) sites. The 525 numbers at 10 Brookline Place will still require dialing full 10 digit number.
