On April 30, 56 excited fourth and fifth graders gathered in the cafeteria of the Maurice J. Tobin School to hear the outcome of their “Healthy Messages for Women” poster contest. As part of a national campaign, BWH’s Office for Women, Family and Community Programs and HMS’s Center of Excellence in Women’s Health asked students at the Tobin School to create posters with healthy messages to women in their family or community. The posters were judged by Margy Hanson, senior vice-president, Network Development Affairs; JudyAnn Bigby, MD, medical director, Community Health Programs; and Julie Rabinovitz, program director, Office for Women, Family and Community Programs. The 12 winning posters will be displayed in the Connors Center Lobby during Women’s Health Week (May 13-19) and turned into postcards that will be distributed to participants. Pictured above with their winning posters are fifth graders Melyssa Centeno (left) and Liz Marie Rodriguez (right).
