BWH Enhances Patient Safety with New Infection Prevention Initiative
Clean Hands=Patient Safety—a new hospital-wide initiative to further prevent infection—will be implemented next week. The initiative will make it easier for health care workers to disinfect their hands before and after each patient contact with an alcohol-based, waterless hand gel. Compared to soap and water, hand gel is better and faster at killing bacteria, is not as abrasive to the skin, is more convenient (no sink needed) and saves time. For more information or questions on the Clean Hands=Patient Safety initiative, contact Deborah Yokoe, MD or Robert Goldszer, MD, MBA.
