Connie Pelegrin
For patients and employees that make their way through the doors of 45 Francis Street and visit the coffee cart for a hot drink or snack, they have the pleasure of meeting Connie Pelegrin. Not only do they get a quick refreshment, but they are always greeted with a cheery smile and outstanding service.
“Connie is a natural when it comes to customer service. She excels at the qualities you can’t teach. It is inherent in her character to be patient and take special care of each and every individual who visits the stand,” said Al Bissonnette, manager of the BWH Cafe-teria and Pelegrin’s supervisor.
Pelegrin has been employed at BWH for more than 14 years. Recently, she took over operation of the BWH Coffee Cart. Since starting this new position, she has developed such an identity with her clientele, that about a year ago her colleagues placed a sign on the stand that aptly reads “Connie’s Cart.” “Connie takes a great amount of pride in her work and it is reflected in the way she manages the cart and serves her customers,” added Bissonnette.
Pelegrin looks forward to coming to work every morning. “I like to chat with the visitors and really enjoy getting to know my regular customers. I try to help get everyone’s day started off right by having their favorite foods and drinks prepared upon arrival,” she said.
Before one customer even had a chance to place his order, Pelegrin let him know there were no coconut donuts in that day. He smiled. “Connie always takes great care of us and she usually has my favorite flavors, but I will have to settle for powdered today,” the customer said with a laugh.
Pelegrin exemplifies the highest ideals of customer service. She is patient and caring and always provides service with a smile.
The Service Heroes program recognizes those individuals who demonstrate a superior commitment to excellent customer service. All employees are encouraged to nominate their fellow colleagues for this special recognition.
