Furthering BWH’s commitment to diversity, the hospital community gathered on February 21 to honor the current Minority Career Development Awardees and present the 2002 Diversity Leadership Award. Nawal Nour, MD, keynote speaker, shared an in-depth look into her work at BWH’s African Women’s Health Practice, a center she founded and the first of its kind in the United States. Nour, recently featured in the February issue of Oprah Magazine for her groundbreaking work, is a clear example of the BWH’s leadership in the arena of diversity and community outreach. To recognize outgoing BWH President Jeff Otten’s vision, the annual Diversity Leadership Award, which was presented to Otten, will now be named in his honor.
