(Pictured left to right) Dora Tovar, research assistant, Department of Women’s Health; Rachael Fulp, administrative director, Center for Cardiovascular Disease in Women; and Kathryn Coppi, events coordinator, Marketing Department, represented BWH at the National Women’s Heart Health Fair at the Hynes Convention Center last Friday. Women’s Heart Day was created to raise awareness of the fact that heart disease is the number one killer of women.
Partners Healthcare and BWH helped to sponsor the event, held by the Sister to Sister: Everyone Has a Heart Foundation. The event was designed to educate women on how to reduce their risk factors for heart disease and offered free heart-health screenings, cooking and fitness demonstrations, and dozens of exhibits. Thousands of women attended and were inspired to boost their heart health.
