The 108th Boston Marathon will take place on Patriot’s Day, Monday, April 19. There will also be a Boston Red Sox game at Fenway Park that day, beginning at 11:05 a.m. Employees should allow extra time when traveling to the Longwood Medical and Academic Areas.
Of note, the MASCO mid-day and Fenway Park & Ride shuttles will use alternative drop-off points between 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., due to the closure of Brookline Ave. between Fenway and Kenmore Square. Delays should be expected.
The MASCO M2 shuttle (LMA/Cambridge) will not be able to service MIT, Beacon St., Commonwealth Ave., Kenmore Square or the Fenway T-Stop from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. due to street closings. Heavy delays are expected due to re-routing of buses.
In addition, approximately 140 parkers will be relocated from the Red Sox garage to the Parker/Halleck lots. Parkers will be notified of changes through their parking offices and with fliers on windshields. Additional bus service will be provided to and from the Parker/Halleck lots to assist employees.
The MBTA will run on a weekday schedule for subway/trolley service and Commuter Rail service. The buses will run on a Saturday schedule. For additional information, commuters should visit www.mbta.com
