BWH staff joined the American Lung Association of Massachusetts (ALA) Blow the Whistle on Asthma walk last month in an effort to fund research for improving the treatment of asthma and to raise awareness about the disease.
Team BWH, which included two teams within the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Department, raised more than $2,500. “These proceeds will help the ALA fund local asthma-related service programs, local research and community initiatives,” said Jacqueline Rodriquez-Louis, MPH, M. Ed., Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
This fundraising initiative is part of a nationwide collaboration between the ALA and its medical partner, the American Thoracic Society.
