On September 7, BWH doctors and Mayor Thomas M. Menino helped raise awareness of heart disease in African-American women at the unveiling of Sister Talk 2. The 10-part TV series is designed to educate African-American women about lowering their risk of heart disease. It follows three real-life women as they incorporate heart-healthy strategies into their daily lives. “Thousands of hours of work went into this educational and hopefully, life-changing series,” said Paula Johnson, MD, executive director, Connors Center and chief, Women’s Health. “We need to highlight the impact of heart disease on women and in particular, African-American women.” The series runs on Boston Neighborhood Network (Channel 9), beginning September 14, 10:00 p.m.
