On Wednesday, October 6, BWH held its first ever Physician Assistant Recognition Dinner to honor the efforts of the 75 outstanding physician assistant’s (PA’s) as part of a national PA recognition day.
“It’s wonderful to have formal recognition from an employer. It shows the hospital cares about and appreciates their PA's,” said Nicole Koobatian, director of physician assistant services and PA in Vascular Surgery. “The number of PA’s at BWH is rapidly increasing as the position plays a critical role in supporting the medical team with efficient and effective patient care.” “We’ve been thinking about making this event happen for a couple of years, and I am extremely pleased at the success of our first effort,” said Debra Leven, director of special projects for the chief medical officer.
“Physician assistants are an integral component of the health care team at BWH, and this event provides an opportunity for us to recognize their critical contributions to our patients and staff,” said Andy Whittemore, MD, chief medical officer, who spoke at the dinner.
