To this month’s Service Hero, Food Services’ Figerete Kadiu (pictured), BWH customers are just like family. It is evident to those customers that she has enjoyed the past two years working at the coffee cart in the Cabot Atrium. “I love interacting with people on a daily basis in my role here at BWH,” Kadiu said.
Kadiu’s attention to customer service led to her Service Hero nomination from Cafeteria Manager Al Bissonette. “I’ve received much feedback on Figerete’s consistent, positive demeanor with customers,” said Bissonette. “She treats everyone in a way that she would want to be treated.”
Kadiu encourages customer feedback and orders special requests, added Bissonette. He credits Kadiu’s careful attention to customers’ needs for the increase in sales since she started working at the cart.
But Kadiu’s friendly manner remains what customers will most remember. “Most importantly, she understands what a smile can do to brighten someone’s day,” said Bissonette.
