Tim and Amy Dolan’s appreciation for the care their children received in the NICU has blossomed into something patients, families and staff will enjoy for years to come. Tim Dolan designed a beautiful garden with flowers and animal-shaped topiaries on the patio outside the NICU Solarium to show gratitude, celebrate the birth of their two children and commemorate the loss of their third.
“A garden is a place of comfort and reflection and means something different to everyone,” he said. “Hopefully everyone who goes to the garden will find what they’re seeking.”
Their children, Charlie and Johannah, spent the first two months of their lives in the NICU. Their sister, Linnea, passed away in-utero. “We spent a considerable amount of time on the patio while Charlie and Johannah were in the NICU,” said Tim Dolan.
“We saw that the garden could be a getaway, an escape,” Amy Dolan added.
