BWH last week presented Mission Hill Main Streets with $15,000 to help improve facades of businesses and support streetscape improvements and networking and marketing opportunities for small businesses.
“Brigham and Women’s Hospital is invested in the surrounding community, whether that means caring for our neighbors’ health, making it easy for them to begin careers at the hospital by going to our satellite HR office or by supporting their efforts in making the neighborhood more vibrant,” said BWH President Gary Gottlieb, MD, MBA, as he presented the check to Maggie Cohn, director of Mission Hill Main Streets. “We want to be a good neighbor, a good friend. We hope this gift reflects our commitment to this mission to support the best of what our city has to offer.”
As part of the city’s Department of Neighborhood Development, the Mission Hill Main Streets program was formed in 1980 to create a vibrant commercial area that houses a broad business mix and features a welcoming streetscape with attractive architecture.
BWH has served as the corporate buddy to Mission Hill since 2001 and since then has supported the program with $100,000.
