A packed Bornstein Amphitheater was the forum for the October 29 screening of “The Angry Heart,” a video documentary on the devastating impact of heart disease and racism on African-Americans in the Untied States. It told the story of Keith Hartgrove, a resident of Roxbury, MA, who suffered two massive heart attacks before the age of 45. Hartgrove (pictured above, right) was joined by experts at BWH—including cardiologist Paula Johnson (pictured above, left), MD, MPH, chief of the Division of Women’s Health in the Department of Medicine and executive director of the Connors Center for Women’s Health—as well as experts from other area health organizations in a panel discussion addressing the issues highlighted in the emotional and educational film.
