More than 600 BWHers found ways to further their careers and education during two HR Workforce Development career events last month.
At events held during the day and evening, staff visited informational tables that provided Workforce Development programs, career ladder opportunities, educational resources and financial aid information. During the day-time event in the Cabot Atrium, staff had the chance to meet leaders and ambassadors from multiple departments such as Nursing, Nutrition, OR, Pharmacy, Radiation Oncology, Radiology, Health Information Technology and Respiratory Care. In addition, employees learned more about the education and training required to reach careers in their fields. There were also raffles and plenty of giveaways.
“The event was a huge success because so many of our staff have the desire to advance their careers by furthering their skills and education,” said Geoff Vercauteren, director of Workforce Development. “Also, we want to thank managers for supporting their employees by granting them the time to visit the event, and especially thank the departments that participated in it.”
