Plans are in place to extend a second service elevator to the CWN helipad, increasing access to an area where some of BWH’s most critical patients arrive.
In advance of that work, BWH will implement several upgrades to the Connors Center passenger elevators to add ID badge swipe capability for Code Blue team members. This will ensure that when the service elevators are under construction this fall, code team members will have swipe access in the passenger elevators to respond to emergencies.
Work will begin on Monday, May 14, from 10 p.m., through 6 a.m. on Tuesday morning. This schedule will continue nightly through Saturday, May 19, at 6 a.m. During these times, one of the three passenger elevators in the Connors Center will be out of service as technicians install card readers.
The following week, beginning May 21, all three passenger elevators will be out of service nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Thursday, May 24, at 6 a.m, as technicians test and adjust elevator controls.
Outside of these hours, all passenger elevators will function as normal. The service elevators are not affected by this work.
