Resource Scheduler Training
On April 29, BWH Office Services/Audiovisual will introduce a new conference room booking program, Resource Scheduler, which offers users more flexibility in booking space for meetings, rounds and other events. This conversion will not affect bookings that have already been entered in Scheduler Plus. There will be live training sessions in Bornstein Amphitheater, April 30 and May 2, both 10–11 a.m. Learn more at BWHPikeNotes.org.
TB Testing Suspended
Due to a national shortage of TB test solution, annual TB testing for staff and employees will not be available at BWH until further notice. The planned TB lobby program scheduled for April 27–May 3 has been cancelled. Please stay tuned to BWHPikeNotes.org for rescheduling, and call Occupational Health at 617-732-6034 with any questions.
Donating Blood or Platelets
If you’re considering donating blood or platelets, the center requests that you call for an appointment and consider scheduling it in the coming weeks to help replenish and maintain the supply of blood products. To schedule a donation, email blooddonor@partners.org with your preferred donation type (blood or platelets), days you wish to donate and a phone number.
MFCDA Blueprint Event, May 10
Join the BWH Office for Multicultural Faculty Careers for a celebration in honor of our past, present and future Minority Faculty Career Development Award winners. During a special Department of Medicine grand rounds, BWH’s Eldrin Lewis, MD, MPH, will present “Management of the Advanced Heart Failure Patient: A Balancing Act Between Quality and Quantity of Life,” May 10, 8 a.m., in Bornstein Amphitheater. Centennial Colloquium, May 18
Michael Zinner, MD, chief of BWH’s Department of Surgery, and the Society of Brigham Surgical Alumni will host a Centennial Celebration Colloquium, May 18, at the Sheraton Boston Hotel, 7 a.m.–9 p.m. The day will consist of presentations and surgery highlights through the decades. The keynote speaker will be Atul Gawande, MD, MPH. A dinner will be held with informal “remembrances” from alumni. Register online at BWHPikeNotes.org.
Employee Service Awards, June 6
