Brigham and Women's/Mass General Health Care Center celebrated its fifth anniversary of service to the greater Foxborough community on June 30 in the center's new third floor atrium at Patriot Place. Nearly 150 people gathered together to mark the occasion, including Foxborough providers and staff, BWH and Partners leadership and many Foxborough community leaders and officials.
The center has grown rapidly over the past five years in response to the community's needs. In addition to primary care, it is home to an urgent care center and day surgery unit, as well as more than 30 medical and surgical specialties located in three multi-specialty clinics.
During the celebration, BWH President Betsy Nabel, MD; Gary Gottlieb, MD, president and CEO of Partners; Jonathan Kraft, president of The Kraft Group; and Cindy Peterson, executive director of Brigham and Women's/Mass General Health Care Center, shared remarks centered around similar themes. They praised the ambulatory center for bringing quality health care closer to the community and commended the way BWH and MGH have worked closely in partnership and fostered relationships with the greater Foxborough municipal, education and business communities.
"We owe a great debt to those BWH and MGH providers who supported the vision for establishing this center back in February 2009," said Peterson. "Our once small ambulatory center has grown tremendously, and we are proud to provide a wide range of world-class care and services right here in the community."
