Quin Named Nurse Manager of 8CD
Matthew Quin, BSN, RN, in June was named nurse manager of Tower 8CD. Quin, who most recently was BWH’s cardiovascular access manager, has served in multiple clinical and leadership positions since joining the hospital nine years ago.
“Matt brings solid experience and genuine enthusiasm to his new position,” said Mary Lou Moore, MSN, RN, CCRN, director of Cardiovascular Nursing and Clinical Services.
As manager of 8CD, Quin works with 97 nurses, 15 patient care assistants and six unit coordinators to care for cardiac surgery patients, including patients undergoing heart transplant, bypass and valve repair or replacement.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such an enthusiastic and highly skilled group of staff on 8CD,” Quin said.
Quin joined BWH in 1998, working part-time as an Emergency Service assistant and then a patient care assistant. Since earning his BSN from Saint Anselm’s College in 1999, Quin has served in many capacities at BWH, including as a staff nurse in the ICU and Intermediate Float Pools, a research nurse and assistant nurse manager of the Neuroscience ICU and Radiology. He is enrolled in the MHA program at Simmons College.
