Brookside Community Health Center Welcomes New Director
Neha Thakkar, MSN, FNP, was recently named nursing director at Brookside Community Health Center.
In this leadership role, Thakkar works with clinical staff to ensure the center continues to deliver excellent care to patients in Jamaica Plain and the surrounding communities.
In addition, Thakkar oversees medical scheduling, participates in budget development, grant writing and compliance and plans and implements performance improvement projects. The nursing director’s role also ensures the center’s compliance with all regulatory standards.
“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to build a strong connection with the community that we serve,” said Thakkar, who has worked for the last 10 years as a BWH nurse administrator. “I was drawn to Brookside’s mission to provide high quality, comprehensive, multidisciplinary, family-oriented care to those who live and work in this community.”
Thakkar will continue the work of advancing nursing practice through communication among team members, efficient and compassionate patient care and strengthening the connections with community-based activities to improve the patient experience.
“Currently, we are focusing on a medical home project that requires team-based practice to provide open access for all patients,” she said.
Thakkar is a nurse practitioner in family practice and holds a master’s degree in nursing from Regis College.
