Morrissey Named Associate Chief Nurse of Perioperative Nursing and Procedure Areas
Lisa Morrissey, MBA, BSN, RN, was appointed associate chief nurse of Perioperative Nursing and Procedure Areas at BWH this spring.
Morrissey joins BWH with decades of experience in nursing and administrative leadership, serving most recently as the director of Nursing for the Operating Rooms at Mass. General Hospital. There, she led clinical and non-clinical staff who cared for about 36,000 patients annually in 70 operating rooms, spanning five buildings.
Prior to that, she spent nearly a decade at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She held roles including perioperative nurse, director of nursing for Perioperative Services and perioperative business director.
At BWH, Morrissey oversees nursing practice in the hospital's Perioperative Services, Interventional Radiology, Pain Clinic and Ambulatory Day Surgery Unit at Foxborough.
She earned her bachelor's degree in nursing and a master's degree in Business Administration from University of Massachusetts Boston. Morrissey is currently in the DNP program for nurse executives at the MGH Institute for Health Professions.
