In honor of his seminal contributions to a growing field, Robert Greenes, MD, PhD, was awarded the first distinguished chair in Biomedical Informatics at BWH's Department of Radiology.
Radiology established an endowment for the chair in celebration of the tremendous progress made in this field over the last 25 years. Greenes received the award on Sept. 30 at an event celebrating the 25th anniversary of his research group.
“Dr. Greenes is clearly a pioneer and a visionary in the field of Biomedical Informatics,” Steven Seltzer, MD, chief of Radiology, said. “He began working in the field in its infancy, and through his work and innovation, he has contributed to establishing Biomedical Informatics at BWH and helped positon us among the strongest in the country.”
