I am pleased and excited about bringing the perspective of the Brigham and Women’s Physicians Organization to this important monthly publication. Working collaboratively with Andy Whittemore, MD, I am confident that we can provide you with important news and provide you with some context on the issues of the day.

With respect to the BWPO, we will provide regular updates on committee activities and matters of importance to the members of the physician organization. Issues such as contract negotiations, physician worklife, regulatory practices and other areas will be broadly discussed on a regular basis so that you can be kept updated on the progress of the BWPO.

Every month Andy and I will provide an overview of some of the key issues that face both the hospital and the BWPO. We hope that you will find this information helpful in meeting the demands of the evolving health care environment.
