Awards and Honors
Betty Fenton Diggins, BSN, RN, was chosen by 10 OB/GYN chief residents to receive the Ella Adams Memorial Award. Fenton-Diggins was presented the award at the resident graduation on June 20.
The chief residents choose a non-physician staff member who they feel has contributed to their education in their four years of residency. Previous recipients include medical assistants, secretaries, nurses and program coordinators.
The award was established in the name of Ella Adams, an OR technician who ran the circumcision room at the Boston Lying-In Hospital and then at BWH after the merger.
“It is a very special honor and I am proud to receive it this year,” said Fenton-Diggins.
