Cherlie Magny-Normalis, MS, RN, NP, of clinical research, has been honored with an "Excellence in Nursing Award" for Nursing Leadership from the New England Regional Black Nurses Association.
Aileen Sauris, NP, of the Cardiovascular Division, was honored by the Preventive Cardiovascular Nurses Association (PCNA) with the Healthy Living Leadership Award. She was recognized for her project submission on the construction and development of a cardiovascular risk reduction program for Latina women.
The BWH Connors Center for Women and Newborns received the 2013 Breastfeeding Achievement Award from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health for its commitment to the 4-D Pathway to Baby-Friendly Designation. The Center for Women and Newborns encourages and supports breastfeeding, recognizing that breast milk meets the total nutritional needs of term infants and is the preferred basis for nutrition for premature babies.
Presentations
Ann Furey, MBA, RN, Care Transitions Nursing Program director, will present "Organizational Journey: Success Factors in Implementing an Interactive Patient Engagement Technology" and "Beyond Technology: The Patient Engagement Challenge" at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Annual Conference and Exhibition in February in Orlando, Fla.
