Remembering Janice Piantedosi, RN

According to her long-time colleague and friend, Elaine Whelan, RN, Janice Piantedosi, RN, was always willing to go the extra mile when it came to her patients. A nurse on Tower 9C for 22 years, Piantedosi lost her battle with cancer two years ago this May.
To honor her memory, nurses on Tower 9C recently dedicated a plaque inscribed with her name and years of service to the unit. They also contributed to a memory book, recording anecdotes and insights into their many experiences with Piantedosi. The book was then sent to Piantedosi’s family.
“We really wanted her family to know that Janice left her mark on us all,” said Whelan. “She was a shining example of nursing at its best, always putting her patients first. She is truly missed.”
