Graduations and Certifications
Joyce Bradley, BSN, RN,C, of the Pain Management Center, in October earned her Pain Management Certification. Bradley is the third nurse in the center to become certified in this specialty, which has been available only for one year.
Joan Dorr, RN, and Kathy Walsh, RN, both of Tower 8AB, earned Medical Surgical Nursing Certification in November.
Elizabeth McDaniel, RN, Marianne Kupchun, BSN, RN, Minerva Bareng, BSN, RN, Courtney Ruggiero, BSN, RN, and Pamela McCallum, BSN, RN, all of the Operating Room, have recently earned certification for OR Nursing.
Daphney Merveille, RN, BSN, NIC on Tower 8AB, in November became certified as an ACLS instructor. In December, she was certified as a TB resource nurse for 8AB.
Virginia Silva, RNC, MSN, CNS, of Connors Center 5, in November received certification as a family nurse practitioner from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Brock Trepanier, RN, of Tower 8AB, in November earned Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.

Kristin Alt Styer, BSN, RN, of the PACU, in November received the Nancy King McDermott Scholarship for her leadership in the PACU and her potential for future contributions as a nurse leader. The award is presented annually by the family of Nancy McDermott who was a nursing administrator at BWH for many years. Alt Styer is a master’s candidate at Northeastern University, and the scholarship will assist her in funding her education.
Tower 8A Unit Coordinator Claudette Leger in November received a scholarship from the Association of Multicultural Members of Partners. Leger aims to become a licensed practical nurse and is enrolled in a certificate program at MassBay Community College.
Paulette Puleo, MSN, RN, of Tower 11C, in October was appointed to the Board of Health in Salem.
