Kravitz Award Winners Announced

On December 9, the Center for Excellence in Nursing Practice presented the 10th Annual Lily Kravitz Nursing Studies Awards for two research proposals. The event honored Dorothy Zuppe, RN, BS, Maureen Curley, RN, MSN, Barbara Eaton, RN, BS, and Andrea Galante, RN, BSN, for their proposal, “Palliative and End of Life Care in the Medical ICU,” and Marianne Dyke, RN, MS for the proposal, “Health Literacy.”
Ginny Silva, RNC, MSN, who with Lauren Godsoe, RN, ADN and Valerie Sweeney, RN, MSN were the 2003 Kravitz awardees, presented the research design and perspectives for their project “Maternal Perceptions and Outcomes of Fetal Surgery.” The award was established in honor of Lily Kravitz, by her son, Arthur Kravitz, MD, Department of Psychiatry, to fund nursing projects that ultimately enhance quality of care, increase patient satisfaction, and empower patients, families and caregivers.
