Jeanette White Rukstalis passed away Monday March 19 after a brief illness. She was a nurse practitioner in BIMA since 1982, and a staff nurse at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital from 1973-82 in various medical, surgical and gynecological clinics. "Jeanette took care of thousands of patients and supported staff and resident physicians over the nearly 20 yrs that she worked in BIMA," said Phyllis Jen, MD, medical director, BIMA. "She was dedicated to patients and to teaching them about their diseases. She always had a calming influence on all those around her, even in the most chaotic and busy times. BIMA and all her patients are very saddened by her loss." Rukstalis leaves her husband Joseph, her sons David and Brian and her nine brothers and sisters. Remembrances can be sent to the Jeanette Rukstalis Fund, c/o BWH Development, 116 Huntington Ave., 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02116. This fund will be used for patient care and education in BIMA.
