The BWH Department of Biomedical Engineering received a Department of Defense award from the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.
The award recognizes BWH as a patriotic employer for contributing to national security and protecting liberty and freedom by supporting employee participation in America’s National Guard and Reserve.
Garth Meikle, senior biomedical equipment technician and reservist, nominated Biomedical Engineering and BWH for the award because of the support he received from colleagues during his continuing reserve obligations and specialized warrant officer trainings.
“Several of our employees are or have been reservists, and we all pulled together to provide support for them during training on both a personal and professional level,” said L. Michael Fraai, director, biomedical engineering. “This is a nice surprise from Garth, acknowledging both our department and BWH,” he added.
