BWH Security has expanded its presence in the neighborhood with a bike patrol covering Fenwood Road and St. Albans Street, in addition to the perimeter of the hospital.
“The bike patrol officer has the ability to observe and respond quickly to situations in the area,” Bill Tobin, branch manager of Securitas Security Services at BWH, said. “It gives us an added sense of presence in the area.”
This is the second year Security has operated a bike patrol, which runs from mid-April through the fall. The officer is on patrol from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, covering the neighborhood and all BWH facilities in the area, including garages, One Brigham Circle and 221 Longwood Ave.
“If a situation arises at one of our facilities, the bike patrol officer can get there quickly and provide back-up support for the security staff at the facility,” Tobin said.
