Beginning March 5, the Cafeteria will make it easy for employees and visitors to identify breakfast, lunch and dinner options that are moderate to low in calories and low in unhealthy trans fats and saturated fat.
“To complement the new BWH Wellness Works program, Nutrition and Food Services want to ensure that employees can eat delicious and nutritious foods in the Cafeteria,” Kathy McManus, RD, director of Nutrition, said.
Check the bulletin board inside the Cafeteria entrance to view a week’s worth of healthy meals, including the nutritional analysis of your selection. For items like sandwiches and salads that are do-it-yourself, the menu provides detailed instructions on how much lean protein to ask for at the deli counter, how much salad dressing to use and what type of bread to select. You’ll also find information on healthy beverages, salad dressings and snacks. The menu will change weekly.
