“The flu shot can cause the flu”
The flu shot cannot cause the flu. The flu shot contains killed or inactivated flu virus, and not a live virus, so it is not able to cause flu infection. Sometimes people who get the flu shot may get ill after the shot. This is not from the flu shot but instead from a virus the person had already caught but may have not yet caused illness before getting the flu shot. The only thing the flu shot can cause in some people is a slight soreness or redness at the area of their arm where the shot was given.
