The Neuroscience ICU last week warmly welcomed home CPT MacGregor Morgan, RN, after he served with the Army for one year in Iraq.
Morgan was deployed in September 2006 and spent a year at the 399th Combat Support Hospital in Tikrit as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He worked with a team of about 200 at the hospital to treat Iraqi civilians and soldiers and U.S. soldiers.
“I’m glad to be back,” said Morgan, who kept in touch with his colleagues on Tower 9CD through frequent e-mails. “I got a lot of support from everyone here. Last Christmas, they sent me seven boxes filled with food, snacks and all kinds of fun things.”
In thanks, Morgan presented the Neuro ICU with a plaque in recognition of the support they gave him. The entire Neuro team signed a welcome home poster for Morgan and celebrated his return home with cake.
