BWH’s Neurological Sports Injury Center and Children’s Hospital Boston teamed up last month to bring some of the most world-renowned experts in the field of neuroscience and clinical practice dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of patients suffering from traumatic sports-related brain and spine injuries during the seventh Annual Sports-Related Conference on Concussion and Spine Injury. It was the Department of Neurosurgery’s most successful event yet, drawing nearly 400 people to Fenway Park. Jared Coppola, a teenage athlete who suffered a spinal cord injury playing football in September 2009, and New England Revolution forward Tyler Twellman spoke about suffering of concussion-related symptoms.
