From left, Sharon Cohen, Kim Clifford, Vincent Speenburgh and Caroline Best helped BWH raise close to $34,000 for the American Heart Association.
More than 250 BWHers walked their way toward reducing coronary heart disease and stroke during the American Heart Association’s Boston Heart Walk Sept. 11. BW/F was one of more than 50 companies and organizations to participate in the fundraiser.
“The walk was a tremendous success,” said BW/F co-caption Sharon Cohen, of the Brigham and Women’s Physicians Organization, who headed the team with Jose Rivero of the Cardiac EchoLab. “It was great to see all of the Brigham and Women’s and Faulkner walkers together, enjoying the nice weather and a shared commitment to the cause.”
To date, 20 individual teams from BWH and Faulkner have raised close to $34,000. BWH’s top fundraising team, the BWPO Heart Steppers, led by Kim Clifford, Caroline Best and Andrea Murphy, has raised more than $11,000.
It’s not too late to help BWH meet its fundraising goal of $63,794, a number that would bring the total amount raised by BWH since 2002 to the half million mark.
