BWH Bulletin's year-end issue is a time to reflect on BWHers' proudest moments from the past year. We asked you to share one BWH-related memory from 2013 that was meaningful to you, and you generously offered stories about colleagues, patients, families, events and milestones that continue to inspire you. We hope you enjoy reading these moments.
I am new to BWH and to working in a hospital setting. Previously, I worked for a health insurance company where certain days were clear holidays because we weren't saving lives. What has made me proudest at BWH is the way the organization takes the time to acknowledge the holidays amidst getting the life-saving work done. Specific examples include watching the wonderful Veteran's Day celebration that represented so many people in our organization who have committed to serving our country, as well as the hospital providing free Thanksgiving meals to everyone working that day. These acts of kindness do not take for granted the commitment BWH employees make to our hospital on these holidays. Every day is a wonderful experience that makes me very proud to be an employee here.
