The Friends of BWH are sponsoring a Handbag and Accessories Sale in the Connors lobby on June 1, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and June 2, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. All proceeds benefit the hospital.
Emergency Appeal for Type O Donors
There is currently a nationwide shortage of O positive and O negative blood, and the American Red Cross has been forced to stop supplying BWH with blood of these types. As a result, BWH is experiencing a critical shortage and donations are urgently needed. If you are O positive or O negative, please stop by the Blood Donor Center this week. The center is located on the Pike, across from the 45 Francis Street entrance . For more information, call ext. 6620.
Seminar on Eldercare
The Employee Assistance Program will present “Eldercare: Practical Solutions and Communication Tips for Caregivers” on June 1 at noon in the Carrie Hall Conference Room. For information or to register please contact the EAP at ext. 6017.
BWH Town Meeting
The next BWH Town Meeting, featuring an open discussion with President Jeff Otten, Chief Operating Officer Matt Van Vranken, and Chief Medical Officer Andy Whittemore, will take place on June 20 at 11 a.m. in the Bornstein Amphitheater.
Safon Lecture
The Sixth Annual Leonard E. Safon, MD, Lectureship in Clinical Obstetrics will be held on June 8, at 5:30 p.m. in the Bornstein Amphitheater. Phillip G. Stubblefield, MD, Professor at Boston University School of Medicine, and Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Boston Medical Center, will lecture of “Family Planning: Boston and Beyond.” A reception will follow in the Cohn Courtyard.
