As concern over anthrax continues to grow, The New England Journal of Medicine has responded by posting free information resources on their website (www.nejm.org). Healthcare professionals who are interested in learning more about anthrax can download information without charge, by clicking on the “Information About Anthrax” tab in the right hand corner of the main web page. The site includes the following pieces from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention: news on preparedness; a health advisory; facts about anthrax; and frequently asked questions. Additionally, the site contains two articles previously published in the Journal along with information from Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine.
Harvard Medical School’s Intelhealth website ( www.intelihealth.com) also features important information, free of charge, including a briefing on the topic by BWH’s Richard Zane, MD, Emergency Medicine.
Additional sites include: The Centers for Disease Control ( www.cdc.org); Journal of the American Medical Association (http://jama.ama-assn.org); and the Boston Public Health Commission ( www.tiac.net/users/bdph). All are posted on BWH’s intranet site at (http://healthcare.partners.org/bwhintranet).
