Donald S. O’Hara, PhD, lecturer on Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology in BWH’s Department of Medicine, passed away suddenly on February 2 at the age of 67. An accomplished biochemist and cell biologist, O’Hara played an important role in establishing modern laboratory science in BWH’s Cardiovascular Division in the 1970s, later directing the division’s Protein Chemistry Core.
“Dr. O’Hara was a devoted teacher to generations of fellows and students,” said Peter Libby, MD, chief, BWH Cardiovascular Medicine. “He generously imparted his deep knowledge of the lore of the biochemical sciences and laboratory techniques.”
