Degrees and Certifications
Jessica Hayes, RN, CCRN, of Shapiro 9 East, recently received certification in adult critical care nursing from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.
Constance McManus, MBA, BSN, RN, ACM, NC-BC, recently passed the American Holistic Nurses Association Nurse Coaching exam and is now a Board Certified Nurse Coach.
Honors
Caprie Bell, BSN, RN, of Tower 15CD, was inducted into the Pi Epsilon-at-Large Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing during the April 4 induction ceremony at Regis College. Bell was recognized for her dedication to nursing and academic excellence as an MSN candidate currently enrolled at Emmanuel College.
Southern Jamaica Plain Health Center has been identified as a best practice for diabetes screenings by Neighborhood Health Plan. Diabetes educator, Maureen Balaguera, RN, CDE, is an integral part of the improvement/transformation team that has led the health center in this practice recognition.
Presentations
Pia Young, BSN, RN, CCM, integrated Care Management Program ambulatory nurse care coordinator, presented "Care Coordination for High-Risk Patients" in a master clinician interactive forum at the Harvard Medical School Primary Care Medicine Conference on March 20.

Vince Vacca, MSN, RN, CCRN, SCRN, nurse educator for the Neuroscience ICU, presented "Cerebrospinal Fluid Leak Following Minimally Invasive Endo-nasal Endo-scopic Trans-sphenoidal (EETS) Pituitary Adenoma Resection: A Case Study of Medical/Surgical Options and Nursing Care.
Vacca, along with Teresa Kanalski, BSN, RN, CNRN, and Deborah McDonnell, BSN, RN, CNRN, both of the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit, presented the poster "When Your Continuous Flow LVAD Patient Has A Hemorrhagic Stroke: What You Need To Know Today!"
