Call for Applications for Mary S. Fay, MSN, RN Enrichment Awards
Deadline: March 9, 2004
The Mary S. Fay, MSN, RN, Enrichment Awards program provides the unique opportunity for the professional and personal development of individual nurses. The award program was conceived by Mr. and Mrs. Yousuf Karsh and made possible by the generosity of the Karsh family, Dr. Marshall Wolf and the BWH Department of Medicine. Now in its fifth year, the program has demonstrated an impact on the BWH community, as former recipients have been able to observe best practices at other institutions— information which they brought back for implementation at BWH.
All BWH nurses are invited to apply for the award. Interested nurses should discuss the opportunity/procedures with Dr. Ann Hurley, executive director for the Center for Excellence in Nursing Practice. Call 617-525-3055 or email Ahurley@partners.org for more information about the award and for learning how to promote your success.
To apply, interested applicants should submit a short description of the proposed project, the amount of funding needed (up to $5,000), and how the findings will:
• promote patient and family satisfaction;
• teach other health care providers about compassionate care; or
• improve collaboration among their fellow caregivers.
Application guidelines can be obtained at www.brighamandwomens.org/cne or by calling 617-525-3050. Please submit your materials to Shin Yu Pai at the Center for Excellence in Nursing Practice, 10 Brookline Place West, Suite 3060, Brookline, MA 02445.
